Barbeque Nation, one of India’s leading casual dining restaurant chains, celebrated the occasion of operating more than 100 outlets in the country on 4th April, 2018. The brand embarked upon a unique initiative to give back to the society to mark the occasion and associated with ‘HelpAge India’, a not for profit organization, caring for disadvantaged elderly citizens and contributed to the cause. Barbeque Nation initiated a weeklong event from 28th March to 3rd April, calling upon people to dine at the restaurant and join the enterprise by making a voluntary contribution which would be channelized through the NGO to support the elderly in need. The organization also contributed a rupee each for engagement on social media, using the hashtag campaign, #GrillForACause, which was promoted on Twitter, Facebook and a microsite, www.mybarbequenation.com, created for the same. A 95 second film highlighting the plight of the elderly and the need to support them, was also launched and promoted on digital and social media. Barbeque Nation’s 100th outlet was launched recently in Dimapur in Nagaland and the organization celebrated this achievement at the restaurant’s Ambience mall outlet in Gurugram. Celebrity Chef, Mr. Vikas Khanna, was the guest of honour at the event, packed with activities for visitors, including a number of elderly people invited for the occasion. A live band performance and a flash mob added much fervour to the event. Mr. Kayum Dhanani, Managing Director, Barbeque Nation Hospitality Ltd, who was present at the event, handed over a cheque of Rupees 26.75 Lakhs raised through the campaign, to Mr Mathew Cherian, CEO of HelpAge India. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kayum Dhanani, Managing Director, Barbeque Nation Hospitality Ltd, said, “It is our privilege to be associated with ‘HelpAge India’ and make a contribution towards the welfare of the elderly who are in dire need of support. We are extremely delighted to organize this event which also celebrates the milestone of Barbeque Nation reaching 100 outlets in India, with the added joy of giving back to society for a cause.”

About Barbeque Nation : Barbeque Nation is a pioneer in India to promote ‘DIY’ (do-it-yourself) cuisine with a concept of live on-the-table grill, since its first store in Mumbai in 2006. Barbeque Nation was founded with a simple vision – offering a complete dining experience to customers at affordable prices. The philosophy extended to all aspects of service and caused the chain to expand rapidly. By 2008, the barbeque chain had a significant pan-India presence, with outlets in Chandigarh, Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Across India, the chain appealed to the value conscious Indian consumer. In 2015, Barbeque Nation introduced ‘Live Counters’ at their outlets, where a chef cooked food exactly according to customer’s preferences. Adhering to the principle of always putting the customer first, the restaurant chain continually offers innovative food festivals across outlets introducing patrons to a range of interesting foods - of which the Bollywood Barbeques food festival is a part. Today, Barbeque Nation is present in more than 100 outlets across India and 3 in Dubai, to spread the Barbeque Nation magic.
