What can be better than starting this year with some of the best Italian dishes at Bella Cucina, beloved beautiful kitchen for serving some of the most talked about delicacies influenced by the central & northern regions of Italy. And when a humble, Indian by heart, Italian Chef Antonello hosting you, you should be ready to be mesmerized.
Chef Antonello Cancedda, heading the culinary team of Prego as Chef de cuisine, brings with him over two decades of experience in authentic Italian fare. Coming from the renowned city of Genoa, the historical port city of North Western Italy, he is introducing us to dishes from Liguria. To taste authentic Regional Italian cuisine, one has to visit this Italian food promotion at Bella Cucina which is running til 28th January'18.
Some of the dishes from appetizers, soup and pasta we loved were;
FOCACCIA CON IL FORMAGGIO - FlatBread baked with cheese, pine nuts onions, basil and olive oil
MINESTRONE ALLA GENOVESE - Genoese style soup with eggplant, spinach, red beans and basil pesto
LASAGNA PORTOFINO - Lasagna with Basil Pesto, Green Beans, Pine Nuts, Parmesan Cheese
Delicacies from Main course and dolce were;
SEPPIE IN ZIMINO- Stewed cuttlefish with artichokes, anchoivies carrots and celery
PESCHE RIPIENE ALL’AMARETTO - Baked peaches with amaretti cookies, wipped cream, toasted hazelnut
TORTA SACRIPANTINA - Sabajon cake filled with vanilla and chocolate butter cream, sherry wine sauce
BACI DI DAMA - Hazelnut and chocolate cookies mascarpone mousse, pistachios chocolate cones, meringue.
One of the best part of this meal was the interaction with Chef Antonello. He is living in India for more than 6 years and became an Indian by heart! He played guitar and sang some of the beautiful Italian songs, 90's bollywood songs and recent bollywood number! A yogi by strict lifestyle, conservation with him certainly enrich anybody. I would love to meet him again sometime!
