The best thing about awadhi cuisine is the use of spices and unique style of cooking that gives an astounding taste. So when you can reach for nawabi foods seating in Gurgaon only and that also offer some of the best dishes from Bihar, that can be the best thing happen to our life. Magadh and awadh has done a splendid piece of work here. Amidst a lot of kitchens in Gurgaon, they will give you a permanent impression by serving some of the best foods they have to offer from the land of nawabs and magadha kingdom.
Simplistic decor, some of the photos from the historical places and character and ambient lighting with good seating arrangement makes it a perfect place to enjoy with family and friends. We were a bunch of friends visiting that day for dinner. We had couple of Italian smooch and Julien Julep. For starters we enjoyed Kakori kebab, mutton galouti kebab, paneer khumb style, tali hui machli, double gupchup chat, Darbhanga Style machli tikka, vegetable seekh kebab.
Paneer Khumb was soft spicy cottage cheese and mushrooms. Traditional galouti kebab served with a piece of paratha - perfect flavor melted instantly in mouth. For Tali hui machli, they gave us deep fried tangra fish, enjoyed much after a long time as I was away from my native place, Kolkata for a long time. But it is recommended only to those who can eat fish with scales perfectly. You know what I mean ! Darbhanga style machli was another steller from bihari cuisine which is cooked with mustard and a recommended one. Double Gupchup chat was nothing but our all time favorite panipuri / golgappa / fuchka ! The presentation was beautiful and those were delicious.
After the starters, we had the signature bihari dish - Non vegetarian Litti Platter ! Deep fried littis served with mutton gravy, chokhas, chutney and salad. Mutton was succulent, juicy and cooked a little spicy. Loved it. This is another recommended dish. For main courses, Gosht nawabi was steller slow cooked mutton and Bhuna Maans was another incredible lucknow style mutton dish. Both were cooked with perfection. Murg Korma was another delicious dish made with cashew nut paste, beaten curd and onion paste. Some of my vegetarian friends tried Dhingri dolma and awadhi dum wali dal. All the dishes we had with Khameeri Roti and Laccha Paratha. I would suggest to try the khameeri roti, Its very soft ( made from yeast, wheat flour, ghee I think ) and it will be loved by all. And dont forget about the bhuna maans and awadhi dal!
At the end of our journey, we tried the desserts. Shahi Tukra, the awadhi bread pudding is a must one. presented with dry fruits, saffron and rabri toppings over it. Its seriously yummy! Makhaane ki kheer was a sweet dish made from milk and fox nuts / lotus seeds, loved it and it will give you a homecoming feeling!
Overall an amazing experience that you will not forget for a long time. Cherish the best of awadhi and bihari cuisines. Overall = 4/5 Food = 4/5
